Tamika A. Carey

Tamika A. Carey is a native of Fort Washington, Maryland, with a heart set on quick obedience to the Lord and fulfilling the assignment He has placed on her life.

As the youngest daughter of Thomas Michael and Wanda Ann Carey, Tamika has always had a passion for learning, laughter, and language. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Journalism from Bowie State University and a Master of Arts in Contemporary Communications from Notre Dame of Maryland University.

Tamika considers it a privilege to serve as an ambassador for Christ in the marketplace. With nearly two decades of experience supporting federal clients, she has built expertise in program management, stakeholder engagement, strategic communications, compliance, and operations. She currently serves as a Senior Program Analyst, helping Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs), Tribal Colleges and Universities (TCUs), and Minority-Serving Institutions secure federal funding to strengthen research, development, and STEM education initiatives.

In this role, Tamika is uniquely positioned to be the hands and feet of Jesus by helping marginalized and underrepresented communities gain access to resources that promote equitable opportunities and economic competitiveness.

Passionate about helping others recognize the fullness and authority of the Lord Jesus Christ, Tamika strives to be a living reflection of God's love, faithfulness, and goodness. She has faithfully served as a mentor and servant leader within women's, social media, youth, and young adult ministries at local churches, including Ebenezer AME Church in Fort Washington, Maryland, and High Calling Ministries in Upper Marlboro, Maryland.

Tamika has also served as a mentor with the Southeast D.C. division of Young Life, a Christ-centered ministry dedicated to helping young people know Jesus, grow in their faith, and serve Him. Though she is the youngest child in her family, she finds great joy in being a "big sister" to many young adults, continuing to disciple and walk alongside them through life's journey.

One of Tamika's favorite scriptures is Ephesians 2:10"For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them." This verse serves as a continual reminder of God's purpose, craftsmanship, and calling on her life.
